Simple Satisfactions

The air around me is sweet
I can smell the pollen
and taste the aroma of fresh fruit

Everything seems more vibrant
than it was just one season before

The sun smiles at us
As we walk around her cousin earth

She leaves us with her kisses
Little marks of memory
of what happened that day

The water seems to like us
during the high rise of the afternoon
it always wants to pull closer
and splash our feet

It pulls us closer to eachother
bonds us like two ends
of the strongest loathestone

This is the time
when living is easy
and happiness is aboard
everyone's face
smiling to forever

When love is imminent
and bodies are tender
traveling and exploring
the juciest of pears

Where fields stretch on
as long as the days

Wildflowers grow rampantly
Leaving our skin to smell
like jasmine and honeysuckell

This is the time to enjoy
the company of our earth
wandering amongst our
tangled hair and salty skin

This season is not around
for selfish thoughts and reasons
This season is not around
for just a break in education

This season is used as a reminder
that this happiness dwells in every soul
Any day of the year

All you have to do
is tap into the maple tree
and let your syrup drip down
every once in a while

If this is done
just every once in a while
You will find the water to be warmer
the fruit to be jucier
the syrup to be sweeter

Which is
in the end
what life is all about.
